Rant – Call of Duty Elite: Report system.

Yeah, as you guess correctly it is time for another Call of Duty Rant.  This time my focus is going to be aimed at the report system in the game.

For those that don’t know, is that you can now report people on MW3 and Black Ops if you think they are cheating or being nasty.  In the past (On Black Ops) they didn’t really care about banning people that much, however on the latest instalment of Call of Duty, they have a dedicated team ready to ban people should they be caught cheating.

I am all for getting the cheaters banned. If someone cannot win the game fairly and honestly then why should they be allowed to continue? The report system does work, people have actually been banned for cheating, however there are still many people using hacked controllers, and lag switches.

But that is not the point of my rant.

The mentality of the typical 12 year old gamer. They report people because they lost a game… no joke. It is known as “Rage reporting” It is a method of cheating. Sadly people have been banned for winning games honestly and fairly, because people abuse the report system. Infinity ward (or who ever is handling the banning)  should allow players to appeal against the bans, because at the end of the day the moderators can make mistakes, and being banned for no reason does not look good for Infinity Ward or Activison.

As far as I can tell there is no way to appeal against a ban. Sending an E-mail to Activison won’t do any good either as they’ll probably re-direct you to another website or another E-mail address.

This is a serious issue, and I am shocked that no one has actually been made aware of this yet.

So what do you all think of this? Let me know in the comments.
