As you might have guessed this is an app store for Windows. It works in very much the same way as the Software Centre on Ubuntu.
Making an account is pretty standard fare, and you’ll be able to create one from the link at the end of this post.
The user interface is very good, it is no over the top, and is not too simple. While it does bare some resemblance to iTunes, it looks completely different at the same time.
The app store its self is easy to navigate, you can search for an application or you can filter it by application type. Overall the UI is speedy and elegant, without taking away from the overall experience.
Downloading/installing an application.
This is really easy, all you need to do is click on an application you want to download. and then download it.
Once you click install it will download and install automatically, you do not even need to go thorough the standard set up that you get with most applications.
So downloading and installing an application can be done in seconds, which is fantastic especially if you have a new PC and want to get applications installed quickly.
If you already have an application installed, and choose to install it from All my Apps then it will reinstall the application.
You can also launch applications from the main interface as well.
Overall it is fantastic if you have a new PC or have just re-installed Windows. There isn’t just free applications on the store, it also offers paid applications. In any case its installation speed, and elegant user interface make this a great choice for an app store.
However if you already have a load of applications installed prior to getting all my apps, it will come across as a waste of time. As you’ll find that it doesn’t scan for applications you already have installed, so if you want them to be added onto the application list on all my apps you’ll have to reinstall those apps.
Keep in mind that this is still in beta so there are a few things that are bound to change over time.
User Interface – 8.5/10 : I have noticed some bugs with the user interface, but its not anything that intrudes in the operation of the app store.
Price – 10/10 : The app store is free and there are tons of free apps to install.
Ease of use – 9/10 : The application is really easy to use thanks to its elegant interface.
If you would like to give this a try then go ahead and make an account on the official website – [ http://allmyapps.com/ ] (Do not worry you do not need an invite) If you want to you can also download apps from the website as well.
